SEED: objects of wonder
SEED: objects of wonder
SEED: objects of wonder is a new mixed media journal of art and writing, devised by writers Felicia Olusanya and Grace Wilentz. The vision for SEED is to get writers, artists, craftspeople and other creatives collaborating around common themes and responding to each others’ work.
Issue #1 of the journal contains responses to the theme of ‘ancestors’. This broad theme attracted work that looks at how younger artists are interpreting, protecting and transforming traditions of the past, while stepping into the role of ‘ancestors in training’ for future generations.
In issue #1, you’ll find something to read, something to eat, things to look at and listen to, to watch, to keep, and something to plant for a new season. Along with curated poems, photographs and new writing, you’ll find a yoga sequence on plantable seed paper, and QR codes leading you to both a new song by Farah Elle and a playlist by RTÉ 2FM DJ Tara Stewart.
Contributors include: Andeso, Bailey Barbour, Farah Elle, Mercy Fulani, Fatima Halawa, Malika Iskander, Claudia Hoareau, Vanessa Rae, Risada, Tara Stewart, Brian Teeling, Gabriela Concha Valcárcel.
