Take Care of the Rounds: artist's book

Here is an artist’s book which I made from a postcard collection. I found a bunch of old postcards in a little second shop in Chester. There was about 30 of them in total – all of them with images of beautiful old steam trains. It was clear that somebody had been collecting them for over the years and there was something a little sad about finding them in a secondhand shop.

I decided to make an artist’s book using about 10 of the postcards which I then reworked using a mixture of collage and pencil drawings. The size of the book is roughly the same size as a pack of Top Trump cards which overlaps nicely with the collecting theme. This handmade artist’s book measures 10 x 8 x 1.5 cms.
