Everyone Has a Different Ennistymon: poetry book

‘Everyone Has a Different Ennistymon’ is a book-length poem by award-winning eco-poet Grace Wells, written to celebrate the town of Ennistymon, its past, present and future.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to work with Grace Wells on the design of this special book. We worked closely on the visual concept, developing something that reflects Ennistymon’s unique sense of place and pace.

Ennistymon’s iconic bridge features on the cover, wrapping around the book flaps. The text is punctuated by plants found along the banks of the Cullenagh River Walk. Both Grace and I were interested in producing something that was plastic-free and more ecologically sustainable. With this in mind, the book was printed on 100% recycled Shiro Echo paper and 100% recycled Cairn Lime card using vegetable-based inks.

‘Everyone Has a Different Ennistymon’ will be launched at the Hedge School Doolin on January 29th 2023. To mark the publication of their first book, Doolin Arts planted 500 native tress at Hotel Doolin together with Hometree on the day of the launch. The book is available to buy in local bookshops in Ennistymon and on Doolin Arts website.
