Bookbinding workshops 2023

Here are some bookbinding and book arts workshops that I am giving this year. These group workshops are suitable for a range of abilities: from beginners and improvers.

1. Drum Leaf Artist’s Book

What: In this two-day workshop, participants will create their own artist book using a Drum Leaf structure. This style of binding allows for double page spreads which lie completely flat creating the perfect display book for drawings, painting or photographs.

2. Sturdy Sketchbook

What: In this two-day workshop, participants will create their own hardwearing sketchbook. This long stitch binding lies completely flat creating the perfect book for drawing into. It also has an elastic tie to keep it closed when carrying it around in your bag.

3. Presentation Portfolio *new*

What: In this two-day workshop, participants will make a beautiful hardback A3 portfolio which is ideal for storing prints, drawings or photographs – any that needs to be stored flat or carried around safely.

4. The Art of Making Books

What: In this five-day workshop, you will create a range of artist’s books: experimenting with sculptural book structures that use printed matter from nature as a starting point to create vibrant and textural printed artworks.
