Bookbinding workshops Autumn 2023

Here are some bookbinding workshops that I am giving this Autumn 2023. These group workshops are suitable for a range of abilities: from beginners and improvers.

1. Presentation Portfolio

What: In this two-day workshop, participants will create their own beautiful hardback A3 portfolio. which is ideal for storing prints, drawings or photographs – any that needs to be stored flat or carried around safely.

2. Book and Slip Cover

What: In this two-day workshop, participants will create their own their own multi-section book nestled in its own custom slipcase. A slipcase provides protection for the book within and are an elegant addition to any handmade book.

3. Paper People: The Characters of Craft

What: I will be co-facilitating a bookbinding and creative writing workshop with writer Sarah Byrne of Well Review. We will be focusing on paper, trees and the senses in Hometree's HQ in Ennistymon, Clare.

The workshop is funded by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland as part of Design Week 2023. Lunch and refreshments are both provided and you will have the opportunity to explore the stunning Hometree grounds.

4. Professional Certificate in Sustainable Exhibition Making

What: I will be co-facilitating a collaborative publishing workshop with artist Seoidín O'Sullivan on Saturday December 9th. This module is part of a longer course which will provide cultural producers with tools to implement climate change solutions across different scales of exhibition-making activity.
I am leading a day-long session where we will create an Irish Art World Toolkit. This collaborative toolkit will map out practical methods to affect and implement climate solutions within art practices, studios and exhibition infrastructures.
