Book launch: From the Dirt Lane

I was delighted to be invited to attend the launch of poet Helen Hutchinson’s book ‘From the dirt lane back to the open roads’. As book artist for this project, I work closely with Helen and her editor Fiona Bolger over several months to create a book design that she loved.

A long-standing community activist and poet, Helen wrote a collection of poems offering insight into the history and culture of Travellers, as well as the pain experienced through assimilation. The book was launched by Dr Rosleen McDonagh who shared her insights into Helen’s wonderful book.
