Zine for Bloomers Magazine
I was excited to be one of the contributors for Issue 07 of Bloomers Magazine, titled Ring Out, Wild Bells. This issue is a collection of texts & artworks informed by artistic acts of narrative reclamation and the artist-led and independent publishing environment in Ireland.
I created a pullout zine in collaboration with artist Ash Maguire titled 'An homage to animal feed bags and other such things'. Agriculture and its apparatus are the focus of this DIY zine which takes its inspiration from animal feed bags' iconic design and materiality.
The zine is a prototype for a larger book which we will be publishing later this year. It is part of a wider project looking at agriculture and its material culture in Ireland. My collaborator Ash Maguire is one of my alter egos. They are interested in agriculture, its design aesthetic and European folk costume. They enjoy exploring boundaries of social norms and nurturing mildly unsettling realities in social settings.
